Strategy
Implementation and passage of rail shipper reform legislation in the 111th Congress, 2nd Session 2010.
Plan for 2010 will be:
· Push for passage of Reauthorization of STB, which is Senate Bill S 2889.
a. Through "grass roots efforts" have ARC members push legislation.
b. Continue collaborative interactive efforts with other organizations that support this legislation.
c. Continue to work closely with the Senate to help secure full Senate passage of the Rockefeller bill.
d. Work with House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Staff to develop similar, but improved legislation more beneficial to rail shippers in the House.
e. Continue to develop and work with sponsors for introduction of the legislation in the House and its passage.
f. Schedule targeted shipper/member meetings and communications as required.
g. Seek support from States, State legislatures, State Organizations and municipalities for the legislation.
